Emerging Museum Professional

I'm Emma. I think museums are unique spaces that have an incredible capacity to tell stories and foster conversation in their communities. As an emerging museum professional, I want to build on these qualities to create meaningful and relevant experiences in museums and other cultural spaces that reflect vistors' values and interests, and are accessible to everyone.

I have a broad range of experience in museums and other informal learning spaces, with a focus on exhibits, research and evaluation, and education. Some examples of my work are available here - please feel free to contact me for more information, or to discuss future projects.

PROJECTS

Indianapolis Zoo Fellowship

As the Clowes Fellow for 2015-2016 at the Indianapolis Zoo, my work focused on evaluation projects for various exhibits and programs, as well as the development of an upcoming lionfish exhibit.

States of Incarceration exhibit

As part of a collaborative project with IUPUI Museum Studies and Public History Students and the Humanities Action Lab, I helped develop a traveling exhibit on incarceration.

New Knowledge Organization

I interned with the non-profit think tank, New Knowledge Organization, helping with a research project that looked at the intersections of art and environmental science.

Cultural Heritage Research Center

I worked with the IUPUI Cultural Heritage Research Center as a fellow, writing, editing, and researching in support of the Center and their recent grant project.
