Internship with New Knowledge Organization

In the summer of 2015, I was an intern with the non-profit think tank, New Knowledge Organization. As part of a small team of researchers, I was a graduate research assistant, working with the I-CaLL project, which focused on the intersection of art and environmental science. Specifically, my part of the project looked at public art installations around Indianapolis’s waterways. My work with New Knowledge helped me gain valuable research experience with grant-funded projects, and encouraged my teamwork skills.

Research and data analysis

Throughout the project, I researched how others were using art to explore environmental science in informal learning environments and wrote literature reviews. I also collected data and documented events, worked with data entry and analysis, and did transcriptions of previous meetings and video journals in support of the project.
